“Stell Dir vor, Du findest eine Streichholzschachtel. Irgendwo, am frühen Morgen. Du hälst sie in den Händen und schüttelst sie und hörst das Streichholzschachtel-geräusch. Im Innern sind, klar, ein paar Streichhölzer, aber vor allem eine Menge kleiner Zettel, vollgekritzelt mit Worten und Zeichnungen und Traumzaubereien. Die sind von meiner Schwester. Ihr Name ist Grenadine.”

BIO:

MY SISTER GRENADINE  is the musical sibling of Berlin based musician Vincenz Kokot, who started this project in summer 2007. The debut album «Shine in the Dark» was nominated as «the Singer-Songwriter-Album of the Summer» by the ZEIT in 2008 and was well perceived both by the acoustic scene and the critics.

After a year of intense touring througout germany and other european countries, the remix-album «More like a Snowflake» was released in early 2009. Kokot started to rearrange his acoustic songs and worked on new material using electric guitars, delay pedals and music boxes

Simultaneously the sister grew bigger and her acoustic side turned out to be an unplugged trio featuring violin, chimes, trumpets and toy instruments. Felix Koch and Angelina Kartsaki now started to add their unique styles to Kokot´s compositions.

In 2010 the second album named “subtitles & paper planes» was recorded and consists of two musical worlds: CD 1 includes eight ukulele songs that can be read as a surreal journey through your daily life motion pictures; CD 2 contains eight guitar tracks made out of loops and associatons and dreamy soundscapes. The album will be released on August 20th via Solaris Empire/Broken Silence.

MY SISTER GRENADINE will be on tour in all seasons of 2010.
