It is difficult to place this self-confident band into a specific genre, their music could be labeled with any anti- or freakfolk label - but the intrusive hipster or nature boy image of the modern city dweller, which is often associated with it, is pleasantly absent here. The lyrics move between private macro-section and social wide-angle and demand increased attention. My Sister Grenadine are probably one of the few bands who - despite their successful records! - only really can be completeley understood during a live performance when all the senses are engaged.

One can hardly speak of sound experiments here. Rather a unique idea of music. Brilliantly crazy. Listening advice: everything!

My Sister Grenadine is a songwriting project that wins through its always light and sensual sounding, but enormously complex and substantial pieces. Very fresh, very skillfully conceived and very, very beautiful.
